If you are an artist, I’d value your opinion on the suitability photos in this post for a tonal landscape painted in oils. I have not painted since I was a teenager and my skills are very limited. A good friend of mine suggested I start by doing tonal landscapes where the focus is on colours, shapes and textures. Since then, I have been taking photos to provide myself with some inspiration.
I have not provided captions for any of these photos, as the location and subject matter is incidental. Any tips on where to start or how to approach this would be helpful. I’d also be interested in which photo would be most suited to a first attempt at a tonal landscape and why.
