For a few fleeting moments, tonight’s sunset lit up a group of trees in glorious colours. I always love the colour of the bark when it turns a deep terracotta. You can see where the birds and small mammals clutch the bark to climb up and down. Also, the trees in the background look almost lime green when their leaves are actually dark green.
The power of light to transform the appearance of a single tree depending on the time of day, the season, and the weather never ceases to amaze me. I have so many photographs of this tree and each time it looks a different colour. I hope you enjoy tonight’s colours.
A stunning photograph, Lisa — looks like a painting. 😀
Thanks Jet, I could look at the colour of the bark all day – it’s just gorgeous. There must be something seasonal about the light as I have a few photographs from April in 2013 and 2014 which have similar terracotta colours. Lisa
