Tiny Fungi

tiny-white-fungi-in-bushland
Fungi are emerging everywhere now, and these tiny white fungi are so delicate.

We had so little rain in Autumn I thought we wouldn’t have a lot of fungi this year.  Two weeks into Winter, we’ve had sufficient rain to green the landscape, but not enough to run off into the dam.  However, it seems to be sufficient for the fungi to begin emerging.  I found these beautifully delicate fungi while looking for orchid leaves. They were growing underneath dry bracken fronds and in among a lot of leaf litter.

I hope to continue with the fungi naming project, and to add more photos of the fungi we have here to my species identification list.  For this reason, I will share other photos of fungi as separate posts.  And yes… I did find orchid leaves, and a few flowers, so these will be in separate posts too.

Let me know what you think!
